The National Association of Realtors still is holding to 2006 being another very strong year - the third highest on record. Visitor Numbers Increase - Rental Owners Benefit

According to the Hilton Head/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce visitor numbers have risen annually over the past 5 years. Occupancy rates continue to be steady and as of June 30, 2006 there have been 1,166,750 visitors to the area. One thing is for sure, Hilton Head continues to be one of the premier vacation destinations anywhere in the United States.

Beach Renourishment Begins in September

The Hilton Head beach is the prime reason 2+ million visitors a year say they make Hilton Head Island their destination.  Beachgoers will start noticing some equipment and offshore work in the next few week as crews prepare to start the latest off-season project to rebuild the island's beaches.  For 30 years, the town has been committed to maintaining our beautiful beaches, which keeps our visitors coming back year after year.  That's good for property values!

Road Construction & Improvements

The project to widen Highway 278 continues in full force with nighttime work and lane closures. Barring weather delays, the project is scheduled for completion by October 26th, 2006.  Good news!
